An electric fence reel is an accessory that is used to roll up and unroll electric fencing wire or tape. It is often used in agricultural and animal management applications, where the fence needs to be temporarily set up and taken down, or moved to different locations.
An electric fence reel typically consists of a plastic or metal drum on which the fencing wire or tape is wound, a handle or a crank to wind or unwind the wire, and a mechanism to hold the wire in place when it is unrolled. Some electric fence reels also have a built-in energizer, which provides the power to the fence.
The advantages of an electric fence reel include ease of use, portability, and flexibility. Because the wire or tape can be easily wound and unwound, it can be used to create temporary fencing in different areas or to move animals to different parts of a pasture. Electric fence reels are also relatively low-cost and require minimal maintenance.
There are different sizes and types of electric fence reels are available. This relates to how much wire, rope, or tape can fit on a reel. The diameter of the wire will determine the reel you use. Even reels that hold 1200 metres of wire are available.
Reels can be used for fences up to five strands in addition to single-line fences. We advise utilising the Reel/Termination post when using several reels. The post is particularly made to allow the reels to be mounted on top of one another, and an extra support bracket may be added to the post to reinforce it and balance the reels' weights.
Tip: By employing a geared reel, you may wind your wire up to three times more quickly. When compared to using a conventional reel, employing a geared reel allows you to wound your wire three times as quickly. a need for fences with greater wire lengths.
Reels can be used for single-line fences, but also for fences up to 5 strands. When using multiple reels, we recommend you use the Reel/Termination post. This post is specifically designed to easily mount the reels above oneanother and an additional support bracket can be added to further strengthen the post and counter the weights of the reels.
Tip: Connect the various lines when using several reels so that your fence will be powered on each strand. Use the Reel/Termination post to simplify your life!
