A highly conductive Gallagher wire strand made of 7 hot-dip galvanised conductors. This Gallagher wire strand is particularly suitable for longer, relocatable pasture fences with a lot of vegetation, e.g. game protection fences.
Thin steel wire (ø 2mm) with very good conductivity, suitable for very long, movable fences.
Suitable for short strains and semi-permanent short fences.
Pulsara Wire Pro Plus 400 m white. Suitable for fencing of over 400 m. Easy to wind up, so ideal for use with a reel. The strand is suitable for short, long fencing for e.g. cattle, sheep, wild boar and dogs.
This robust Gallagher comfort reel (with 3:1 ratio) has a particularly large inner diameter, which ensures fast winding and unwinding of your power conductors. The reel is suitable for up to 500 m Vidoflex, 200 m tape or 400 m rope/cord.
The multi wire ring top has several movable insulators, making it easy to put up fencing at specific heights. Particularly suitable for fencing pastures with animals of different heights.

When implementing cattle fencing, electric fences are a safe, cost-effective and useful tool to choose. When compared to traditional fencing or barbed wire options, it’s a no-brainer. With electric fencing systems, there are many options available. From offset fences to electrify existing fences, to mobile fences perfect for strip grazing, whatever your priorities there’s an optimum fence for your herd.
Our electric fences are highly versatile and can be easily adapted to various terrains and configurations in the UK. They can follow the natural contours of British farmland, making them suitable for uneven or challenging landscapes. This flexibility allows farmers to enclose specific areas or create rotational cattle grazing systems. Electric fences require fewer materials than traditional fences, as they don't rely on heavy posts or numerous support structures. This reduction in material requirements not only lowers initial costs but also makes repairs and modifications more straightforward and cost-effective.
The electric shock delivered by the fence energiser serves as a psychological deterrent for cattle. Once cattle experience the mild shock, they learn to associate the fence with discomfort and are less likely to attempt to breach it. This psychological barrier is a humane way to control the movement of livestock without causing harm.Electric fences act as a deterrent not only for cattle but also for potential predators. The shock delivered by the fence discourages predators from attempting to breach the enclosure, providing an additional layer of security for the livestock.
Electric fencing facilitates better grazing management by allowing farmers to control where cattle graze and for how long. This enables the implementation of rotational grazing systems, preventing overgrazing in specific areas and promoting healthier pastures.
Electric fencing helps farmers organise their herds more effectively. Dividing pastures into smaller sections with electric fencing allows for the separation of animals based on factors such as age, sex, or health status. This segregation aids in better herd management practices, including targeted feeding and medical care.
For dairy farming, electric fencing is a versatile tool in the fields. If grassland management is a high priority for you, then mobile fencing makes it quick and easy to move stock and rotate between grazing and resting. Usually when containing dairy cows, only one line of wire/polywire/tape is necessary, as they are mostly docile.
When it comes to beef cattle and suckler herds, a more substantial fence would be advisable. Either 2 or 3 lines of cattle fencing is usually sufficient to keep them contained. A system is also often more successful if a thicker rope is chosen for the conductor, rather than wire or polywire. This is because it is more easily visible for the herd.
