Hotline 25m Poultry Netting Kit - Mains/Battery- Green Netting

Here's a quick and easy to set up 25m Electric Fencing Poultry Netting Kit that includes everything you need to to create a safe and secure pen for your poultry that is designed as much to keep the foxes out, as to keep your chickens in.

Electric fencing is usually effective against Foxes because they don't tend to take a running jump at a fence. Instead, a fox will more often 'stalk' the fence, perhaps testing it from a few points for weakness. The fox might try to climb a fence or even jump to the top in order to have a look over the other side... All behaviour patterns that help to make electric fencing and electrified netting in particular, very effective.

This is the most popular size Hotline's new 'Deluxe' version of the poultry pen kits, suitable for most runs for up to about 30-40 chickens. These deluxe kits now include the brand-new 'Hot Gate' access system, which quickly and easily creates an access gate, allowing you to get in and out without switching off the fence line and without getting shocked.

Although the poultry net supplied is only 25m in length, it contains over 275m of conductive polywire. To achieve the best performance from the net it is important that you keep these electrified netting wires free of any vigorous encroaching vegetation. If this is likely to prove difficult, or you are likely to extend the fence beyond 100m – 150m in the future, it may be worth considering a more powerful energiser.

The supplied energiser can be used on mains 240V or a 12V battery. If used on a 12V battery, please do not use standard car batteries, as these are not designed to be constantly charged and discharged; they will die very quickly and leave your birds unprotected. You should always use a deep cycle battery, such as our 75Ah electric fence battery. The 75Ah battery will power your kit for up to one month (with the HLC40) and we also supply larger, to extend this.

This kit includes:

• 1 x 25m green poultry net
• 1 x Hot Gate system
• 4 x Double-spike corner posts
• 1 x LED fence tester
• 1 x 1m earth stake
• Ground skewers, pegs, corner guys and repair kit.

Not part of the kit, but perhaps worth considering is the addition of our Electric Fence Voltage Indicator lamp, which may increase the level of deterrent against a more timid fox, but more importantly, will provide you with a visual indication that the fence is working correctly; especially useful if you can see your fence from the house.
